William Meonske

William "Bill" Meonske of Covington Washington passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at the age of 83 at his home. Bill was born November 29, 1932 in Kouts, Indiana, to William and Ella (Wiesjahn) Meonske. He is survived by his wife Arlene of 28 years, brother Norman (Phyllis) Meonske of Ravenna, OH, sister Evelyn Lewis of St. Louis Mo, daughters Patti Bird, Kathy (Mike) Truitt, and Diann (Steve) Solomon all of Houston, TX, and step-daughters Lisa (Chal) LeTourneau, of Vancouver, WA, and Lori (Manuel) Massie of Olympia, WA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father and brother Kenneth. Bill graduated from Schererville Public School in Schererville, Indiana in 1947. Bill began working for Boeing in Wichita Kansas. He was transferred to the Pacific NW where he worked in many plants around the Seattle area. He retired in 1995 after 36 with the company. He was a loyal Boeing employee and had many stories to tell of his time there. Bill was not one to sit still and had many varied interests. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Kansas and loved golfing, and bowling. He also enjoyed fishing for salmon to smoke and send to family members for Christmas. He was a big kid at heart and loved to tease his nephews and grandchildren. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at Valley Medical Center for their outstanding care during his hospitalizations and treatments there. Services to be arranged at a later date.
