Joseph Francis Scanlon

December 2, 1948 - August 13, 2012

Joe passed away August 13, 2012 in Renton, WA at the age of 63. Born in Albuquerque, NM to Joseph Francis and Sara Vesta Scanlon, he was raised in Santa Fe, NM where he attended school and after graduation left to serve in the Navy. Following his service in the Navy, he graduated from the University of Washington and retired from Washington State Department of Transportation. Joe is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughters Sara (Jamie) and Jessica (Troy), son Shaun, grandchildren Kyle and Hailey, his brothers Ted and Michael (Rockie) Scanlon of Las Cruces, NM, sister Kathie Casados of Raton, NM and numerous other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Francis and Sara Vesta Scanlon, brother Bill and second wife Terri. He was a loving dad and husband and an honest, humble man. He was a professional engineer, Navy veteran and baseball fan. A truly remarkable man, he was one of God's gentlest souls. He will be deeply missed.
