Maureen "Moe" Elizabeth (Hine) Rodriguez

Maureen (Moe) Elizabeth Rodriguez better known as Nana to her nine grandkids, Chase, Kenny, Kelsie, Cody, Devon, Michael, Paige, Alex, and Sofia. She was a mother to four daughters, Marie, Denise, Suzanne, and Michele, and a wife to Manuel (Rod). Moe and Rod were married for 47 years and lived in 7 different states and 3 countries. Moe, born 1940 in Norfolk, England was one of eight children. True to her English background she loved her hot teatime with milk and honey. Cadbury’s chocolate was one of her favorite sweets and always had some in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator. After being in the United States for almost 30 years, Rod and Moe moved back to England to live. During their time there, Moe was able to spend quality time with her brothers and sisters before coming back to the United States.                 

 As an animal lover throughout her life, Nana had many pets from fish to Irish Wolfhounds. Another one of her loves was spending time working in her English garden and watching birds, especially hummingbirds and owls. She would often reference her bird book with the grandkids when they would visit. She was even known to spend a few late nights looking for owls with her daughters in the English countryside.

Moe loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending quality time with everyone together. She was known for her inappropriate sense of humor and had a feisty personality. She was always caught saying “Bloody Hell” and using the English version of flipping people off. As a family, we all have fond memories of Disneyland road trips, playing card games, going bowling, having the best Christmases ever, singing Elvis songs, whistling with her, and pockets full of Werther candies.

We are so glad we have these memories to carry us forward and keep close in our hearts.
